Achieving the Vision Together

Welcome to the Tobacco-free Aotearoa Conference 2010 website.
In early November 2010 over 280 cessation workers, researchers, health promoters, policy advisors and educators came together for two days to improve their knowledge, skills and networks. Delegates left Waipuna Hotel and Conference Centre feeling inspired and with renewed energy to work toward the vision of a tobacco-free Aotearoa.
Conference Theme
The overarching theme of the 2010 conference was Achieving the Vision (of a Tobacco-free Aotearoa) Together. This concept of Kotahitanga (oneness or unity) was woven throughout the two days. Within this overall theme there were three sub-themes.
- Mobilising communities
- Innovations in cessation
- Growing leadership
The conference drew on the expertise that exists within our own rohe of Aotearoa so all speakers in the plenary and parallel sessions were our own.
